We will try to keep the description brief, this is more of a quick glimpse description to help distinguish between the different types of windows rather than a detailed one.
It cannot be opened or closed, which makes it the most resistant to weather.
Commonly opens outwards rather than inwards. It is quite easy to operate since it opens outwards. These casements are designed to withstand rain and wind, so their direction cannot be reversed.
May require effort to move them back and forth, they cannot be opened fully, One advantage of these types of windows is that they do not require any space outside the extension of the window, they are ideal for use between two internal spaces, such as between an office cabin.
A hung window is one that slides vertically. A single hung window has one fixed panel and one sliding shutter while the Double Hung window has two sliding shutters one on top of the other. Hence the single Hung usually opens up from the bottom while the Double Hung capable of opening either the top or the bottom side of the windowpane.
It is connected on its top corner so that it opens upwards and out. An awning window can be challenging to operate, especially if it is heavy.
They hinge out as well as slide on a single track. They are used for a very broad opening; the window system can be pushed to one or both sides, thus creating an unobstructed view to the outside.
